Burglary added to marijuana charges
A Westbury man first arrested for allegedly smoking a marijuana cigarette in public, was later charged with seven burglaries in the New Cassel and Westbury areas, Nassau police said Friday.
Isiah Johnson, 20, of 212 Urban St., was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, and seven counts of second degree burglary.
Johnson was initially arrested after plain clothes officers observed him smoking a marijuana cigarette in a public place in Westbury at 7:11 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Following an investigation by detectives, police said, he also was charged with the seven burglaries that took place between July 21 and Sept. 3.
Johnson was ordered held on $20,000 bail after he was arraigned Friday in First District Court, Hempstead.
