A cabdriver in Hempstead was held up at gunpoint in an attempted robbery Thursday night and police are looking for three male suspects, authorities said.

The attempted robbery took place at 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of Greenwich Street and Marvin Avenue, police said. The cabdriver was not injured and at 11:45 p.m. Hempstead officials were still interviewing him to gather further details.

Police said the suspects, who the driver said were between 20 and 25 years old and wearing all dark clothing, fled in a tan Lexus but did not get away with any money. No further information was immediately available, police said.
