A taxi driver was arraigned Saturday after he stabbed a fellow driver to death over a disputed fare, Nassau County police said.

William Mena, 32, of Maspeth, Queens, was found unresponsive on the ground in a parking lot at 925 Hempstead Tpke. in Franklin Square shortly after midnight Friday morning. He had a stab wound to his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mena was married with two children.

On Friday night, police arrested Christopher Heron, 35, of Jamaica, Queens, and charged him with second-degree murder.

Detectives said both men work for Ollie's Taxi & Airport Service in Franklin Square.

The altercation, police said, stemmed from a dispute about which driver would pick up a fare, police said.

During the dispute, Heron stabbed Mena, police said. The taxi company said it had no comment on the incident.

Heron was arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
