A California man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of four children in Westbury, after Nassau County police said he took the wheel drunk on Thursday with four children as passengers.

Jose Castillo, 36, of Norwalk, Calif., faces four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and driving while intoxicated, police said.

According to detectives, he was arrested at 3:25 a.m. Thursday in Westbury with six passengers, including four minors.

Castillo was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta with a 15-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, 3-year-old twins and two adult passengers, police said.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
