A two-car accident in East Williston Tuesday morning damaged a Long Island Rail Road crossing gate and delayed at least two trains, police and an LIRR spokesman said.

One of the cars hit the crossing gate at the east end of the East Williston train station, delaying two trains, LIRR spokesman Sal Arena said. No one was injured in the car accident, Nassau County police said.

The 12:35 p.m. train from Oyster Bay due at Jamaica at 1:33 p.m. was expected to be about 15 to 20 minutes late. The 11:08 a.m. from Jamaica due at Oyster Bay at 12:05 p.m. was expected to be about 34 minutes late.

Arena said the gate incident might cause "residual delays," but he could not be sure.

Police said a call for an accident at the Hillside Avenue crossing gate came in at about 11:10 a.m.
