Car crashes into Garden City Park home, driver dies

Police are investigating an early-morning accident Thursday that left one person dead after a car crashed into a home in Garden City Park.
The crash happened not long after 2 a.m. near Fifth Avenue and Broadway, Nassau County police said. Police have not released the identity of the victim, the driver of the car.
Video from the scene showed the car lodged halfway inside the home — and nosed down into the basement.
The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
