Car crashes into stores on Hempstead Turnpike

Three vehicle occupants and one pedestrian were reportedly injured early Saturday morning when a car crashed into a row of stores on Hempstead Turnpike near Marlborough Road in West Hempstead. An accident sent the car careering from the road; firefighters and police freed the victims inside the car. Police investigators were on the scene to investigate. A sedan careened onto a sidewalk and crashed into two businesses early Saturday on Hempstead Turnpike near Marlborough Road in West Hempstead, injuring three people in the car and one person on the sidewalk.
The car hit the Aroma Nails & Spa and the Speedy axle shop at about 5 a.m., according to a person who answered the phone at the axle shop a few hours later.
Firefighters and police worked to free the people inside the car, which was covered by debris, witnesses said.
Nassau police did not have any information on how the crash occurred or whether any arrests had been made.
