Car flips, closes LIE entrance ramp

An overturned car forced the closure of the entrance ramp to the westbound Long Island Expressway at Exit 39, Glen Cove Road, Friday morning, Nassau County police said.

The crash occurred at 6:28 a.m. Traffic cameras showed rescue and emergency personnel on scene at 6:45 a.m.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was seriously injured in the crash. It also was not immediately clear how long it would take for the situation to be resolved -- and for the ramp to be reopened.
