Car hits bicyclist in Garden City Park

A bicyclist was injured Wednesday morning after being struck by a car in Garden City Park, police said.

Nassau County police said the accident was on Herricks Road near the intersection with Washington Avenue at 7:27 a.m. Police were on the scene and said the cyclist, whose identity has not been released, was talking to officers.

Police could not immediately say how seriously the cyclist was injured, but said the person was being taken to a hospital for treatment.

The driver was not charged.
