Car hits school bus at Lawrence intersection
Students headed for the first day of school at Yeshiva Ketana in Inwood got a jolt Wednesday when their bus was hit by a car in Lawrence, Nassau County police said.
None of the students were injured, police said.
The accident occurred at 8:26 a.m. at Sutton Place and Broadway. The bus, which was struck broadside, was being operated by Independent Coach.
The car driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
The ages of the students were not immediately known. Police said the students were transferred to another bus and continued on to school.
Bus company officials could not immediately be reached for comment, and a call to the yeshiva was not immediately returned Wednesday.
