A woman who fainted while driving crashed into a parked car in Carle Place on Saturday morning, injuring two people, one seriously, Nassau County police said.

The woman, 76, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet north on Park Avenue near Raff Avenue at 11:54 a.m. when she suddenly fainted, police said.

The woman's vehicle crashed into a 2001 Ford, which was parked with two men standing behind it, police said.

One of the men, the Ford owner, 55, was hit by the Chevrolet, while his friend, age 54, was hit by the parked Ford, police said.

The 55-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said. The driver also was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The 54-year-old man refused medical assistance at the scene.

Police said no criminality was suspected in the case.
