Central Islip man dies in motorcycle crash, State Police say
A Central Islip man speeding on a curved section of road was killed early Thursday when he collided with a guide rail, State Police said.
Mauricio Rodriguez-Alvarez, 35, was “traveling at a high rate of speed” on a 2015 BMW motorcycle when he hit the guide rail on the ramp from the northbound Wantagh State Parkway to the westbound Northern State Parkway at 1:57 a.m., police said.
He died at Nassau University Medical Center, police said.
State Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Troop L at 631-756-3300.
