A contractor accused of stealing $300,000 from a Levittown homeowner by failing to perform promised repairs has been cleared by a grand jury, according to records.

Patrick T. Ladmer was 38 years old and living in Bay Shore when he was arrested in 2009 by Nassau County police and charged with grand larceny and scheme to defraud, accused of taking the money and failing to perform mold remediation work he had promised on a home on Acorn Avenue, police said at the time.

A grand jury voted not to indict Ladmer in 2010 and the charges were dismissed, according to a letter from the Nassau County district attorney's office to Ladmer's attorney.
