A clerk at a gas station and another at a deli were arrested for selling alcohol Thursday night to an underage, undercover police agent, Suffolk police said.

Canan Aydin, 38, a clerk at US Petroleum in Bay Shore, and Carlos Lopez, 25, a clerk at the Tropical Deli in Brentwood were charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a minor, police said.

The arrests were aimed at curbing alcohol sales to minors and was part of a three-hour sting operation in which Third Precinct officers inspected 24 establishments, police said.

The two clerks were given field appearance tickets and will be arraigned at a later date.
