Clerk tied up in cell-phone store heist
A robber who brought along his own wheeled duffel bag held up a T-Mobile store in Bellmore late Monday, tying up an employee and fleeing with cell phones and cash, Nassau y police said.
The man entered the store on Sunrise Highway shortly before 8 p.m. and announced the robbery to a 19-year-old worker, police said. The worker gave the thief cash and cell phones -- it's not disclosed how much -- and the man then tied the worker's hands, police said.
He also punched him, briefly knocking him out, police said. No weapon was displayed and the worker refused medical attention, police said.
Police said the suspect was about six feet, two inches tall, had a deep voice, wore a black ski mask, a yellow hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket and black gloves.
He carried the loot in a wheeled duffel back to the rear parking lot and fled west on Royle Street in a dark SUV, police said.
