A five-alarm fire Wednesday afternoon that forced the evacuation of a commercial building in New Cassel was later extinguished, with no reports of injuries, Nassau police said.

The fire at Advanced Powder Coating, located at 111 Magnolia Avenue, was reported at 1:50 p.m., a Nassau police spokesman said.

Wednesday night, a Nassau police spokeswoman said the fire had been extinguished and was not considered suspicious. No one was injured, she said.

Video by News 12 Long Island from earlier Wednesday showed billowing smoke coming from a building while firefighters sprayed water on it from above.

A Westbury Fire Department official said multiple units were sent to the fire.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office told News 12 that at least a dozen crews had responded to the blaze and that firefighters were forced to evacuate the building because the fire had compromised the roof's integrity.

Hazmat crews responded to test the air and water for potential toxicity, the Fire Marshal's office told News 12.
