A two-car accident closed one lane of the northbound Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway for almost two hours Monday, Nassau County police said.

Police said the crash, which occurred at 6:52 a.m. near Exit 9 in Bethpage, closed a lane until 8:44 a.m. One person suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said. It was not immediately clear if those injuries required hospitalization.

Earlier, an errant tractor trailer closed one lane of the eastbound Southern State Parkway east of Exit 42 in Central Islip, according to the state Department of Transportation.

That incident occurred around 6 a.m. The DOT said the truck was cleared from the road just before 7 a.m.

In a separate accident, police also said a garbage truck collided with a school bus on Genesee Street in Hicksville sometime around 8:15 a.m.

The crash was considered minor, according to police, who could not say if any passengers were aboard the bus -- but who said there were no reported injuries.
