Two 16-year-olds from Port Washington were arrested after police said they arranged folding chairs into a 12-by-12 foot swastika in the parking lot of a Great Neck synagogue.
The incident occurred Saturday at the North Shore Sephardic Synagogue on Cuttermill Road. Nassau County police said a rabbi was alarmed when he found the symbol and called police.
Officers arrested Erik Bracamonte of Port Washington Boulevard Saturday at 9:17 p.m. and Joseph Cianciulli of Kirkwood Road Sunday at 1:05 a.m. Both were charged with first-degree aggravated harassment and released on appearance tickets returnable Dec. 3 in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
Police said the two took 28 folding chairs they found in the parking lot at the synagogue and at about 6:30 p.m. set them up in the form of a swastika.
