A teenage robber punched his victim, a young skateboarder, in Sea Cliff on Friday night, after the victim balked at the robbery demands, Nassau County police said in announcing the arrest of the robber and his accomplice.

An arraignment judge Saturday ordered the accused robbers -- brothers Benjamin Molina, 16, of Woodbury, and Helder Molina, 18, of Glen Cove -- each jailed on $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash bail, according to court records. They're due back in court Tuesday. It's not clear whether they made bail.

The robbers had demanded property and money from two 13-year-old boys who were skateboarding on Sea Cliff Avenue about 7:40 p.m., police said.

When one of the boys refused, Benjamin Molina punched him in the right eye and the robbers fled in a 1995 Toyota, police said.

Helder Molina surrendered to police at 10:06 p.m.; Benjamin Molina was arrested at his home at 10:30 p.m.

Police did not say how they tracked down the robbers or what evidence authorities have linking them to the crime. Charges include second-degree attempted robbery and second-degree assault.

Friday's arrest could jeopardize Helder Molina's status in an unrelated case, a 7-month-old arrest for marijuana possession. Days after the 2011 arrest, the court granted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, meaning that if he stayed out of trouble for a year, there would be no further punishment, the case would be dismissed and the court records sealed.
