Cops: 3 arrested with stun guns, Luger
Three men, including one from Roosevelt, face weapons charges after plainclothes officers saw one of them with a stun gun early Tuesday, police said.
Nassau County police said Wednesday one suspect was seen arguing with another man at about 2:30 a.m. on Nassau Road, between East Raymond and East Clinton avenues, in Roosevelt when officers noticed "a spark coming from an object" in the defendant's hands
The suspect entered a waiting car with two others and fled the scene, police said.
After stopping the car, police "immediately saw" a Sabre stun gun near the driver, Gabriel L. Dumet, 22, of 48 W. Raymond Ave.
After a lawful search, another stun gun was discovered, along with a loaded 9-mm Luger, police said.
Police arrested two others who were in the vehicle: Jonathan Perez, 25, of 1710 Madison St., Ridgewood, and William Cruz, 25, of 157-07 115 Rd., Jamaica.
Police said the victim was not injured.
Dumet, Perez and Cruz are charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said, and Cruz had an open warrant from the NYPD police on a harassment charge.
The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
