Cops: 3 charged $107G with fake credit cards

Three Queens men used fake credit cards to purchase nearly $107,000 in merchandise from the Bloomingdale's at the Roosevelt Field mall, Nassau County police said Thursday.

The three were arrested Wednesday on grand larceny charges as they tried to purchase a $1,950 Gucci purse -- after a security guard at the East Garden City store recognized them, police said.

They charged $9,349 to several cards Wednesday, police said, and also made $97,566 in fraudulent purchases Dec. 12 and Dec. 13.

The three men -- Sahibvir S. Johal, 20, of 13545 125th St., South Ozone Park; Jaleel Warren, 22, of 11468 200th St., St. Albans; and Rhashaan Watson, 22, of 10828 Liverpool St., Jamaica -- were arrested shortly after 4 p.m., police said.

Johal had a Rhode Island driver's license belonging to someone else when he was arrested, police said. Watson was in possession of eight fraudulent credit cards, police said.

Johal is charged with two counts of second-degree grand larceny, second-degree possession of a forged instrument, third-degree conspiracy and first-degree scheming to defraud.

Warren is charged with second-degree grand larceny, third-degree grand larceny, third-degree conspiracy and first-degree scheming to defraud.

Watson is charged with second-degree grand larceny, third-degree grand larceny, three counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, third-degree conspiracy and first-degree scheming to defraud.

At their arraignment hearings Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead, prosecutors sought $50,000 bail for Johal and Watson, but Judge Tricia M. Ferrell granted them a conditional release, with monitoring from probation officials, a spokesman said.

Prosecutors sought a $100,000 bail for Warren and the judge set a $4,000 bond, $2,000 bail. It was unclear Thursday whether he posted bail. The men are due back in court Monday.
