Cops: 3 rob Hempstead store, tie up woman
A woman was punched in the face and tied up by three men during a robbery at a Hempstead clothing store, police said Monday.
The men, pretending to be customers, entered Amy's Boutique, 68 N. Franklin St., about 3:30 p.m. and forced the only employee there to the rear of the store, Nassau police said. They struck her, and used duct tape to tie her hands, police said, before fleeing the store with stolen clothing, cash and other merchandise.
The woman, who was able get outside the store and find help, did not need medical attention, police said.
Detectives asked that anyone with information concerning the robbery contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
