Cops: 3 teens charged in Hempstead robbery
Three teens were arrested Sunday, charged with robbing a 23-year-old man on a street in Hempstead, police said.
One of the two arrested, Marshall Thomas, 17, of Elizabeth Avenue, was previously arrested in February, police said, one of five teens arrested then after what officers said was a "shots-fired" incident in Lakeview.
That case is pending.
Nassau County police said Thomas, Ishmal Griggs, 16, of Ingraham Street, and Jason Perez, 16, of Harwood Drive in West Glen Cove, approached the man on Sycamore Avenue, punched and kicked him, then stole his car keys and a bank debit card and fled the scene.
The victim called 911.
Responding Hempstead police officers searched the area, found the trio in Campbell Park and arrested them.
Police said the victim suffered cuts to his head, neck and chest, but refused medical attention. Police did not recover the property.
Thomas, Griggs and Perez were all charged with second-degree robbery and face arraignment Monday in First District Court, Hempstead, police said.
