Cops: 3 throw icy snow at man, take $400
This was a little more serious than a snowball fight.
A Freeport man was robbed by three teenagers after they took advantage of the recent weather and threw packed snow in the man's face and robbed him, Nassau County police said.
On Saturday about 12:25 a.m., police said the 51-year-old victim was walking near 347 Guy Lombardo Ave. in Freeport when Tyqwan Sydelott, 18, Damari Edwards, 16, and Dominique Walker, 18, all of Freeport, threw the icy snow in the man's face and knocked him to the ground.
Police say the teens then kicked him several times, and stole about $400 from his pocket. They later fled the scene on foot.
The snow throwers were later arrested at a nearby 7-11 store.
Sydelott, Edwards, and Walker are scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
A police spokeswoman said the victim suffered no injuries during the robbery.
