Four men were arrested on robbery charges Friday following a Franklin Square theft earlier in the day, Nassau police said.

Fourth Squad detectives said four men arrived at Tri Star Motors at 790 Hempstead Turnpike about 11:16 a.m. Two of the men entered the business armed with a handgun while two waited in the car.

Inside the building, two of the suspects robbed three male employees of their personal property -- wallets and cellphones, a police spokeswoman said -- before they exited the business and fled in a vehicle.

Police said responding officers later saw a car matching the description of the suspects' vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Evans Avenue in Elmont. The four suspects abandoned the vehicle and, after a brief foot chase, were apprehended. Police said all of the victims' personal property was recovered.

The suspects were identified as David L. Hosannah, 32, of East 53rd Street in Brooklyn; Horatio M. Thomas, 28, of 155th Street in Jamaica, Queens; Rubens Petion, 36, of Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn; and Khalid Wisdom, 21, also of Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn.

Each was charged with three counts of first-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The suspects will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
