Four people were taken to the hospital Monday after a two-vehicle accident with injuries in Hicksville, Nassau police said.

A spokeswoman said the accident occurred at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Newbridge and West Old Country roads.

All four were taken to Nassau University Medical Center, the two most serious by Nassau Police Department ambulances, and the two others with head, neck and shoulder injuries by Hicksville Fire Department ambulances, a Hicksville fire official said.

Two women with non-life-threatening injuries are expected to be admitted to the hospital, hospital spokeswoman Shelley Lotenberg said. Two other women being treated are expected to be released Monday evening, she said.

The police spokeswoman and the fire official said they did not have other details on the accident.
