Cops: 4 masked gunmen rob Hempstead deli
Police are investigating the robbery late Wednesday of a Hempstead deli by four masked gunmen.
The four men entered La Esperanza Deli, 363 Clinton St., "while wearing masks and displaying handguns" and demanded money from two store employees -- a 52-year-old woman and 24-year-old man, Nassau County police said in a Thursday news release.
The robbers took an undetermined amount of money and fled south on Clinton Street, police said. Neither worker was injured, and "there is no further description of the subjects" of the suspects, police said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-244-TIPS.
