Cops: 50 violations during safety check

A traffic safety check on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in East Garden City Tuesday resulted in 50 violations for seat belt use and child restraints, State Police said.

Troopers conducted the safety check between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the parkway near the Roosevelt Field mall.

Of the 50 violations, 29 were for motorists who did not wear their seat belts, police said in a Wednesday news release.
