79-year-old pedestrian hit on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown
A 79-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured Saturday night when he was struck on the Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, Nassau police said.
The unidentified male victim suffered head trauma and broken bones, police said.
He was attempting to cross the turnpike at Grassy Lane shortly before 5 p.m. when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle driven by an 85-year-old, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Police said there is no criminality involved.
