An Elmont woman faces charges of assault, resisting arrest and violating the Town of Hempstead noise ordinance, Nassau County police said Monday.

Fourth Precinct officers responding to 111 Barbara St. on a call about loud music at 12:40 a.m. said the home's resident, Alison Gahagan, 47, at first complied with their request to turn it down.

But about 90 minutes later, the officers returned, after another report of loud music.

When officers tried to issue a summons to her for violating the town noise ordinance, Gahagan refused to give her identification and slammed the front door on the hand of an officer, police said.

As the officer withdrew his hand, Gahagan again slammed the door, striking his hand a second time, police said.

Gahagan also resisted being handcuffed, flailing her arms and twisting her body before being subdued, police said.

The injured officer was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released.
