Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County police said Monday they are looking for a suspect who pistol whipped and shot another man in Freeport.

Police said Abram D. Owens entered a home on Rutland Road in Freeport at about 11:25 a.m. on April 10, 2013, pistol whipped and then shot another man in the leg.

Owens then fled in an unknown direction. In a news release Monday, police did not say what happened to the victim.

Owens is "to be considered armed and dangerous and is known to frequent the Hempstead area," said police, who also Monday released a photograph of the suspect.
