Cops: Armed cyclist robs woman in Elmont
A bicyclist armed with a handgun robbed a woman in Elmont early Friday morning as she was walking along Biltmore Avenue, Nassau County police said.
The robber approached her near the intersection of Blackstone Street at 1:30 a.m., police said, displayed the gun and demanded the woman's property.
After taking the woman's purse, which contained an unknown amount of cash, the robber rode off, police said. The woman was not injured, police said.
The bicyclist was described as 5-foot-5, of thin build and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a black and gray baseball cap, police said.
