Cops: Armed man robs Elmont backyard gathering
An armed man robbed partygoers gathered in a backyard in Elmont early Sunday, Nassau County police said.
Five men were in the backyard of a Cameron Street home shortly before 1 a.m. when an armed man came into the yard and demanded property from the victims, police said.
The suspect took four iPhones and a Metro PCS cellphone before running away, police said. No one was injured, and the Metro PCS phone was found later at the scene.
The suspect was described as in his early 20s, between 5'6" and 5'8" tall, and wearing a face mask.
Police ask anyone with information about this case to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers will be kept anonymous.
