Cops: Armed men rob Syosset home
Four men, some armed with handguns, robbed the occupants of a Syosset home after one suspect posed as a flower-delivery man to gain entry, Nassau County police said Saturday.
The robbery occurred about 3:45 p.m. Friday on Tower Court when a man appeared at the door and showed a bouquet of flowers and said he had a delivery. A live-in maid opened the home's front door and went upstairs to get the 17-year-old daughter of the home's owner, police said.
The man with the flowers then flashed a handgun and was joined by two other men. They went upstairs and ransacked the home, police said.
A short time later, the homeowners returned to the residence and saw a black, four-door vehicle parked in the driveway with an unknown driver, police said.
As the male homeowner approached the car, one of the robbers fled the home and displayed a second handgun and threatened the homeowners, police said. All four men then fled in the black car.
There were no injuries, and the extent of the theft was undetermined, police said. No arrests have been made.
Police asked anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
