A Queens man was arrested and charged in connection with a 2009 Inwood shooting in which a man was wounded, Nassau police said.

Durrell Gaines, 23, of 194-17 114 Dr., St. Albans, was charged with criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, assault, and reckless endangerment.

Gaines is one of two men, police said, who fired about seven bullets outside an apartment building on Bayview Avenue on July 5 after someone had allegedly thrown firecrackers at their feet.

A 28-year-old man was accidentally struck in the buttocks by one of the bullets, police said. He was treated and released at South Nassau Communities hospital in Oceanside.

Gaines was to be arraigned Friday in First District Court, Hempstead. His arraignment information was not immediately available.

The second man is still being sought, police said.
