Cops: Arrest in 2010 death of Freeport man

A Texas man was arrested and charged with murder in the 2010 death of a 27-year-old Freeport man, police said Wednesday. A New Jersey man was also charged with murder in the same case, and was arrested in September 2011, Nassau police said.

Ismael Martinez, of 45 Broadway, Freeport, died after two men punched, kicked, and stabbed him on Sept. 19, 2010, according to police.

Guillermo Hernandez, 21, of Houston, was to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead. Eric Martinez, 21, of Elizabeth, N.J., was arrested in September 2011.

Both men were also charged with third degree criminal trespass, and Hernandez was also charged with first degree robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
