Cops: Arrest in Great Neck Estates burglary
A Brooklyn man who allegedly broke into a Great Neck Estates home more than a week ago, stealing expensive watches and coins, has been arrested, Nassau County police said Friday.
Johnny Ortiz, 20, will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday and is expected to be charged with second-degree burglary, police said.
Authorities said Ortiz entered the North Clover Drive residence on Oct. 16, taking four Rolex watches and a coin collection.
Ortiz was recently arrested on an unrelated charge in New York City. An investigation by Nassau police and NYPD found he was involved in the Great Neck Estates burglary, police said.
It wasn't immediately known why Ortiz was arrested in New York City.
