Cops: Arrest in stabbing of boy, 15
Police have made an arrest in a stabbing incident Monday that left a 15-year-old boy hospitalized in serious condition.
A “male juvenile,” whose identity has not been released by officials citing his age, was arrested late Tuesday night and charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon, Nassau County police said. Police could not say if the boy was being charged as an adult or as a juvenile.
The stabbing occurred Monday in a parking lot on Peninsula Boulevard in Hempstead at 3:10 p.m., police said.
They said the victim was then surrounded by a large group of people, one of whom stabbed the 15-year-old boy in the abdomen. Police did not say what led to the stabbing.
The victim ran from the scene, police said, but “collapsed several yards away.”
Additional details were not immediately available.
