Nassau police detectives have arrested a Brooklyn man after he got into an argument with another man in Valley Stream Sunday and shot him eight times, police said.

The suspect, Richard Davidson, 36, "exchanged words" with the victim, 43, in front of a commercial building at 40 Lois Place at 12:55 p.m. and shot him six times in the leg and twice in the shoulders, police said. He fled the scene, but was later arrested near the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn. He was charged with second-degree attempted murder and other weapons charges, police said.

The victim was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

A man who lives within yards of where the shooting happened who asked not to be identified said the victim was a manager at a cleaning company on Lois Place.

Davidson will be arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead.
