Some commuters returning to their vehicles in a Long Island Rail Road parking lot Monday evening found their tires slashed and their automobiles vandalized, Nassau County police said.

At least seven autos at the Seaford train station lot were damaged sometime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, police said.

The lot runs along Sunrise Highway. It was not immediately clear where in the parking lot the vehicles were parked.

Besides slashed tires, police said the damage included scratches to the vehicles.

They ask anyone with information about the vandalism to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
