Cops: Baldwin man discovers burglary in progress at his home
A man returned to his Baldwin home on Saturday evening to find a burglar fleeing from his residence, Nassau County police said.
Police said the resident, 55, was returning to his DeMott Avenue home at 9:40 p.m. when he saw a man leave his home and climb over a rear fence.
The man, who ran toward Victoria Street, had gotten into the home through a basement window, police said. Nothing had been stolen.
