Tariq Shirley, 22, of Baldwin, was arrested Friday, April 18, 2014, on attempted grand larceny, identity theft and other charges for attempting to use a stolen credit card and fake ID at the P.C. Richard & Son in Bellmore, police said. Credit: NCPD

A Baldwin man attempted to use a stolen P.C. Richard & Son credit card and a forged driver's license to purchase items at the Bellmore branch of the electronic store on Friday evening, police said.

Tariq Shirley, 22, of 1006 Centennial Ave., entered the store, on Sunrise Highway, around 6:30 p.m. and tried use the stolen card to buy multiple items, according to Nassau County police. Shirley also showed the clerk a forged Connecticut license, police said.

Store officials notified the police, who responded to the scene and placed Shirley under arrest without incident.

Shirley is charged with attempted grand larceny, criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of stolen property and identity theft, police said.

He will be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
