Nassau police were looking for eight to 10 men who beat and robbed a man in New Cassel early Sunday morning.

Detectives said the 19-year-old victim was riding his bike near 141 Garden St. at 12:45 a.m. when the men approached him. One hit him in the face with a baseball bat, knocking him off the bike. Another took his wallet. Others punched him in the face as he lay on the ground.

The teen was treated for cuts to the face and a fractured nose at a hospital. The suspects fled north with the bike on Garden Street.

Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
