A bicyclist died Thursday after suffering “severe head trauma” after he was hit by a car in a Carle Place intersection, Nassau police said.

The 52-year-old male cyclist was headed east on Dow Avenue when he was struck by a 2012 Toyota, police said.

The car was driven by a 61-year-old woman, who was traveling south on Glen Cove Road, police said.

The police took the cyclist to a hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:36 a.m., police said.

The Homicide Squad is investigating, they added.
