A bicyclist was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a car in Hicksville, Nassau police said.

The bicyclist, 34, was going south about 10 a.m. on South Broadway when he was hit by a northbound Ford as its 76-year-old driver made a left onto Lauman Lane, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, police said, and the Ford was impounded for brake and safety checks.

The investigation continued into the afternoon, but detectives did not find any apparent crime in the accident, police said.
