A 51-year-old man suffering from chest pains was hospitalized after being rescued from a boat in Long Creek off Freeport Sunday, police said.

The identity of the man was not released. His condition also was not immediately available.

Nassau County police said the rescue occurred after a 911 call at 8:40 p.m.

A police helicopter located the boat and a Marine unit crew then rescued the man, transporting him to Guy Lombardo Marina, where he was taken to a hospital by Nassau County Ambulance.

The man's boat was towed to an area marina, police said.
