The man whose body was found slumped over a fallen tree in a Wantagh park Sunday died of foul play, Nassau police said Monday.

He had injuries that made it obvious he was killed, said Insp. Kenneth Lack, a police spokesman.

A passerby reported a body "slumped over a log" about 4 p.m. at Mill Pond Park Preserve, where detectives returned Monday to search for clues, police said.

Lack cited the ongoing investigation as he declined to give other details, such as the nature of the injuries or how long the man's body may have been there.

Homicide detectives said anyone with information could call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
