The body of a man was recovered Friday in the waters of Little Neck Bay in Saddle Rock, Nassau County police said.

It was spotted floating in the rear dock area behind a Bayport Lane North residence and reported by a woman about 1:50 p.m., police said.

Police do not believe it is the body of the worker who fell off the Throgs Neck Bridge on March 30 and was never found despite a 13-hour search by authorities. That man, who worked for an Islandia-based painting company, had slipped from a scaffold platform.

The body was described as a male white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 177 pounds, with brown eyes and graying hair, police said.

He was wearing a white, golf shirt with the word "Collegiate" and two crossed tennis rackets embroidered in blue, police said. He also had on a pair of blue Addidas sweatpants.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
