Cops: Burglar broke into homes on his block
A Bethpage man was arrested on burglary charges Monday after breaking into three homes on his own street, Nassau County police said.
Kristopher Lospitalier, 23, of 80 S. Millpage Dr., was arrested at his home without incident and charged with two counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary, police said.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Lospitalier broke into two homes on Feb. 1 and another on Feb. 3, police said.
In one of the Feb. 1 break-ins, a 62-year-old woman was sleeping in her bedroom when Lospitalier entered her home, police said. The woman chased him out of the house through a back door after he took jewelry and an unspecified amount of cash, police said.
The intruder escaped by jumping a back fence and fleeing toward Stewart Avenue, according to police.
