Second Squad detectives are investigating the burglary early Thursday of a Levittown Radio Shack, Nassau County police said.

At about 3:50 a.m., police said a man threw a piece of concrete through the front glass door of the Radio Shack at 3491 Hempstead Tpke.

The suspect entered the store through the smashed doorway and then left by the rear door without taking anything, police said.

About an hour earlier, police said a Verizon Wireless store in Franklin Square also was burglarized.

A man entered the store at 805 Hempstead Tpke. at about 2:40 a.m. He fled before police arrived and did not get any proceeds, according to Fourth Squad detectives.

Police said Thursday they did not believe the burglaries were related.

Anyone with information on either case can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
